Nelly is so sweet and professional, really listened to my concerns about my bridesmaid’s dress, and did a great job at altering it so that it fit and moved perfectly. She got the alterations done when she said she would, too! If you have a big event and want to make sure your dress fits and looks great on you, go to Nelly! ? Nelly is the ultimate professional and expert!
She is thoughtful, communicative and honest when she approaches a garment of clothing. She was able to transform a humongous pair of denim from the 90’s into a contemporary piece for everyday wear. She was a straight shooter in terms of what to expect for the final product, and I was pleasantly surprised at how great it turned out. Nelly is absolutely THE best seamstress I have ever known! I am petite and must alter literally everything that I buy and have worked with dozens of seamstresses in Santa Barbara and elsewhere. But no one compares O Nelly. She alters clothes for me in leather, wool, cotton, silk, linen, and all kinds of knitwear, and her work always pleases me. She is fast, professional and manages to squeezes me in at the last minute, and she is a sweetheart whom I absolutely adore. You simply cannot go wrong with Nelly. Her skill as a tailor is exceptional, and tailoring of this high quality is truly becoming a lost art.

I first contacted Nelly (who came highly referred from an expert seamstress down in La Jolla) to repair and almost redesign a Michael Kors signature piece dress that another alterationist felt was too complicated. Nelly exceeded even my highest expectations — she is brilliant and meticulous with an eye toward detail and a deep knowledge of fabrics and couture design. Since then, I have only entrusted Nelly with my alterations, repairs and expert redesign of multiple items in my wardrobe. Everything she touches looks like it was made for me uniquely and fits perfectly .. she is out of this world incredible!

I am SO VERY GRATEFUL to have found Nelly! She was HIGHLY recommended to me by a dear friend in Ojai. I took in a beloved dress that was in need of repair with a tricky tear in the shoulder. Nelly did an EXCEPTIONAL JOB fixing the torn shoulder, and reinforced the other shoulder, as well! I was SO PLEASED! When I went to pick up my dress Nelly had pressed it and it was ready to wear. I quickly enlisted Nelly's help with two more beloved pieces of clothing...one skirt needing repair in the waistband, and a dress needing an alteration in the sleeve length. I am so excited to pick up those two items because I just KNOW that Nelly will do a fantastic job! I trust her and cannot WAIT to recommend her to friends! Nelly is a rare find: a talented, experienced seamstress with good taste and a great eye who will alter a garment to make you look your best. And she does men's alterations, too! This is my first time using Nelly’s Tailoring and I’m so glad I switched from my long term tailor in Montecito. She was professional, personable, had fair pricing and most of all did an incredible job. She did some custom work for me based off of photos, plus took in 2 dresses and a pair of pants.
