Update 7/23/22:
Although everything that I said below is factual I also realized today that I usually go on Sundays which is pretty slow. Because I booked the appointment for a Saturday instead I showed up about 30 minutes early assuming they would be pretty busy and didn’t have time for delayed customers. I was told when I got there that the lady who would be doing my hair was finishing up and would be with me in a moment. Another customer walked in and as the lady who was supposed to be doing my hair began washing the customers hair, I was told to come back later so that someone else could do my braids. As I am scheduled to go out of town this evening, I won’t be going back today or again. 1- you should always be familiar with your regular customers. 2- You should never allow scheduled appointments to be bounced around ESPECIALLY since parking costs money Monday-Saturday. 3- Don’t over book yourself and expect your customers to be ok playing ring around the rosie when you can’t accommodate. With the cost of goods and services these days, I would have expected more.
I’m not one to go to a new hairstylist without getting recommendations from people I know first, so I was a little reluctant. I decided to give them a try since they’re close to my house and were willing to work around my schedule to book the appointment.
I was more then pleased and have gotten 2 different styles so far (box braids and cornrows). It can be difficult to find a braider who understands different hair textures as to ensure my hair is braided in a manner that minimizes, if not alleviates, any potential damage from the selected style. I had no breakage around my edges, no bumps from tightness, nor any sliding braids. My box braids also lasted about 3 weeks longer than they EVER have.
The atmosphere is comfortable. I was offered the Wifi, told where the restrooms were, and even offered cellphone charge when my phone began to die. It’s really a nice experience.
They certainly have a long-term customer.
