First off, Kayla, the owner, is such a gem. She's super sweet and crazy talented. We were total newbies, but she made us feel right at home. Never once made us feel silly for not knowing what we were doing (which was pretty much the whole time, haha!).

The studio itself is SO cool, and there are so many finished and in progress pieces from other artists in the studio, and Kayla (who has some insanely beautiful art - check it out)

After she walked us through (and physically showed/helped us) how to do each step, we both made two bowls customized however we liked.

If you're looking for a fun time and to collect memories to think of each time you eat a soup, check out Atelier St. Pete. Kayla's the best, and we would definitely come back for more.

My moms and I attended a wheel throwing class at Atelier; totally exceeded my expectations. Kayla guided each of us through the process of creating two bowls/pots with skill and kindness, and making adjustments for hand strength limitations. This was a lovely way to gather and we're all looking forward to our creations as reminders of a day spent together!

Anyone interested in experimenting with basic pottery skills should take a class at Atelier St Pete. My husband and I took a class at this beautiful new studio with the owner Kayla Harbeitner. She was an attentive patient teacher and made sure we each had two beautiful hand thrown bowls to take home. We love them!! It was a very fun experience and we will definitely be back to create something else with her or the other instructor Morgan. Very conveniently located just off of 275.

I surprised my boyfriend with the wheel throwing class and we both loved it! Kayla is a kind, informative, and helpful teacher who ensures that everyone can take home a functional bowl that they're happy with, making this class perfect for beginners. When I picked up our fired and finished bowls 1 week later, I noticed that she even labeled the bottoms with our names and the date we made the bowls, which was a nice touch.
The only thing I would change is that I wish there were color samples of the underglazes we used. We love how our bowls turned out, but would have liked to know how the colors would look post-firing (some get darker, some get brighter).
I would recommend this class to anyone, and look forward to returning to Atelier in the future,

What a gem! We made 2 bowls each. Kayla is a great teacher and pottery artist. A fun group to sit and learn how to make our bowls. Highly recommend as a fun outing.
