This place is beautifully decorated & has a cool selection of Latino artists and gifts. I love the vibes with the plants and decor, they also sound like they do fun private events with poets and artisans. The owner is nice & I enjoyed chatting with him. I feel bad about the previous review left here so don’t let that disuade your decision to visit. People are too quick to give one star to someone’s small business & ruin their entrepreneurial dreams — be a supporter of neighborhood businesses instead of a detractor.

Came by to check out some plants and realized some big changes to this location. This Plantitas Market location is now partnered with Crow and carries more gift items from different Latino vendors than plants. The merch is cute but the vibe was all wrong when I spoke to I think the owner (guy at register). He was helpful in answering questions about the shop changes but his mood quickly shifted into something straight up catty when I made the mistake of asking about another friendly local Long Beach shop with a similar Latino/Mexican aesthetic. His line about "just cause you're latino doesn't mean you have to look poor" is what threw me, like wth was he alluding to. Plus, I cannot say how many times he felt the need to double down on this idea of the store being and looking "boujee" on purpose (like that's a good thing...). Not sure what was going on but the whole vibe was off and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Truly feel sorry for the vendors that sell their art here. Glass shelves with gold trimming and a "higher than thou" tone don't make a store better, sophisticated or "boujee", my guy. The shop felt so performative. Please support local shops that are genuinely for la comunidad and by la comunidad. I highly recommend Pippi and Lola and Adelitas... both queer and latine owned AND the nicest people and atmosphere.
