If you want to learn to sew, don’t think twice about booking these classes just do it!

I’m about to compete the level 1 class and I have absolutely loved it. I fully intend to do all 4.

From Lisa’s teaching style and patience to her antique tea cup collection the whole experience has been wonderful.

I’ve done other classes that focussed a lot on making something which was valuable, but for my detail oriented mind the way Lisa teaches the underlying techniques was exactly what I wanted.

I’ve only been sewing for a few months and I can believe how far I’ve come.

The shop is also great - very well priced and a good variety of fabric and other items.

As a haiku:

Just book, don’t think twice
Lisa’s patience, skill, and tea,
Sewing blooms in me!

Great class to learn/refresh sewing skills but also good to have some 'me-time' having a break from hectic lifestyle and screen time.

After spending a long time looking and nearly signing up but not sure if it was for me, finally went for it and I'm so glad I did, can't believe how much I have enjoyed the classes and am looking forward to starting level 2 (and 3 and 4)

Lisa's teaching style is great, she easily adapts to suit everyone and with the small group setting it feels personal and tailored to each individual.

I like that she gives background and insight into reasons for the techniques being taught.
It is so rewarding making items from scratch and having the workbook with own samples to refer back to is great.

The refreshments are an unexpected highlight and a lovely way to get to know each other.

This will be week 4 for myself at The Auld Atelier’s beginner sewing class. Although I could already sew, I had no knowledge of cutting a pattern and lots of other wee things. Lisa is a brilliant teacher. There are 7 to a class and we all love it. I can’t wait till I make a skirt. I’m super excited about level 2 and 3 and stretch class. Anyone thinking about taking up classes, go for it you wont be disappointed. I’ll upload my skirt once I make it.

I have done a couple classes at the Auld Atelier and I highly recommend them. My knowledge and confidence in sewing would not be where it is without all of Lisa's guidance and help during the course. If you want to learn how to sew, these classes are invaluable!

Learning with Lisa has been amazing. I never thought id get to the end of level one never mind feel good enough to sign up for level two!
Lisa has so much patience and never rushes you or makes you feel like you have to have things done by a certain time. It just takes as long as it takes.
Having the smaller classes also helps as you are able to have time with Lisa if you need any extra help or guidance.
Im so glad i signed up with Lisa and am so chuffed at the things i can now create because of her classes.
If youve ever wanted to learn theres no better place ?

I’ve just finished level 1 at The Auld Atelier and to say I’ve enjoyed it doesn’t really do it justice. I am so much more confident and knowledgable using my sewing machine. I’ve made many wonderful items AND learned how to cut a pattern. All the skills from the items I’ve made built up to me cutting a skirt pattern, choosing and cutting my material AND making my skirt. I can’t wait to wear it out and tell everyone I made it.
Lisa is the most patient and knowledgable teacher, and I am delighted I managed to book this course. I’d been watching for about a year for a time that was suitable. If you’re thinking about whether you should book on it, just book it. It is amazing value for money. I’ve booked on to do the level 2 course and I cannot wait for it to start.

If you're interested in learning to sew or improving your skills, then this is the place to go. Taught in small groups by an excellent teacher. I'm very slow at picking up things . Lisa has great patience and an ability to explain things clearly. She has always been supportive and encouraging.
If you're thinking about it, do it .

A fab place to learn how to sew. Lisa is a fantastic teacher and is great at explaining things. Ive gained the confidence since my first course here (level 1) to just pick up patterns and have a go, making some cute outfits for my daughter and gifts for my family. I'm now onto the level 3 class and enjoying learning more with each course.
